We met over a slice of pizza...
It was Valentine’s Day 2015 to be exact and as true millennials, we were at a day party dancing through the hallmark holiday that celebrates love on a rooftop in Manhattan amongst beautiful black people (s/o to EverydayPeople). We had our first encounter at the let out of the event and ended up at the same pizza shop a few blocks away with friends. We exchanged numbers that night and after a couple months of back and forth (don’t ask who’s fault that was lol), we finally went on our first date. What was intended to be just a dinner date turned into an extended evening, full of arepas, a few beers, some dancing to the tunes of DJ ?uestlove and all around good vibes. We also realized that night that we both had lived in all of the same 3 cities (apart from home) with overlapping years, mutual friends, and recounted times that we were DEFINITELY in the same room without realizing it. All in due time, our paths finally crossed and we haven’t looked back since.
